About Julie Fox, owner of Fox Web Development
Company Vision
During my 7+ years at National InstrumentsI watched a number of very talented, well-educated women be forced to decide between career and family. Most of these women ultimately left the workforce to stay home with their children. While not one of them regrets their decision to make their families top priority, many of them still long for the opportunity to continue their software development careers while maintaining a strong balance between work and family.
My long term goal for Fox Web Development is to have a small office in Austin with an onsite day care where women (and men!) can work flexible hours and truly enjoy their jobs without the guilt and pressure of trying to balance their work and family lives.
Professional Experience
After graduating with a Computer Science degree in 1998, I spent 9+ years developing Web, Oracle, and Lotus Notes applications for companies ranging from start-ups to large corporations such as Dell.
In late 2006 I decided to spread my wings and venture out into the consulting world in order to have a more flexible schedule that allowed me to spend more time with my family.
My enhanced technical, business, and interpersonal skills have proven successful in implementing hundreds of projects through to completion. I'm experienced in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements definition, technical design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, training, and maintenance.

I currently live just outside of Austin, Texas with my wonderful husband and five year old son. I enjoy mountain biking, reading, scrapbooking, digital photography and learning new web technologies. I feel truly blessed to be able to make a career out of two talents I'm passionate about: technology and creative design.
